War Forces

S! all, with CamelJock busy with readying the server and other things, I've created a possible schedule for War Forces. The one thing about it, is it extends the War Forces by one week, from 8 weeks to 9 weeks for the sake of easier scheduling. It makes it so each team plays against the other enemy teams the same number (each team plays three times against the other enemy teams) and all teams play the same number of day/time matches (no one gets stuck playing all of their matches on a Sunday or on a Saturday at 12 pm, etc.; if necessary, because of lack of participation or whatever, we can cut the War Forces season to 6 weeks instead of 9 weeks.

Salute! US95thPickett, one small problem wih your proposed schedule... there are 7 teams paricipating. LE/-L-/PJ666 is not shown in the schedule. They might be a tad upset, if they are omitted. Then there is the matter of some teams that would/may be unable to field a full 16 or 20 pilots, much like our own team (US95th/GT/AA/GA)... and a few others. Too bad the team TRs can't /won't log on to the forums and surrender their pilot counts? (I believe its up to the various TR/ATRs to monitor this forum for any updates and or new posts/info) We may have to "re-organize" so as to even the teams/sides out?

S! all, Splat, I mistakenly thought the LE/-L-/PJ666 team was a back-up team in case one of the other teams couldn't participate in War Forces since the LE/-L-/P team was listed as "Others" (which side are they on, Allied, Hun ???). I certainly meant no offense to them by not including them in the suggested schedule and offer my apology to them.

Whoever runs War Forces would need to decide what to do about teams that are unable to field a full team of 16 pilots, which is a very real possibility. My own opinion would be to lower the team limit from 16 to a lower number that would be commensurate with the number of available pilots/teams, maybe even lower the number of weeks from 8/9 to 6 weeks.

Since War Forces is starting on the 17th of October, we need to try and offer whatever help and suggestions we can since CamelJock is overloaded with trying to get War Forces going.

Splat, do you have any suggestions for a schedule? All suggestions are welcome !

... salute! US95thPickett, frstly can I call you Pickett? Just shorter, hate typing. As for any offences taken, I doubt the team LE/-L-/PJ666 have taken any offence.

As for the LE and company, I believe they are going Hun.

If we could just get the TR/ATRs to report team sizes, then we have something to work with. Next idea would if all teams agree is maybe split them up either dividing into smaller teams, for example J99team A and J99team B, or perhaps re-organizing team structures... spliting existing teams to shore up teams with lower pilot counts? If the teams do not want to do this, then we're back to a 7 team formatt with the Hun side teams recieving bys due to there being 4 Hun and 3 allied teams? And how to score those bys... dunno?

S! all, ok, here's another suggestion for a War Forces schedule based upon 3 allied teams and 4 hun teams for eight weeks. The one down side to it is each of the four hun teams will only get to play 6 out of the 8 matches (because there are four hun teams compared to the allies three teams), whereas each of the three allied teams will get to play all 8 matches.

AB1/SPA124 can't play at 12:00pm EST. It's 6:00am for europeans and J99 would also complain as we play against them the first match.

Our prefered times are 12:00am (noon) EST and 3:00pm EST.

S! all, Vasek, 12 pm is actually 12 noon; 12 am is actually midnight. And correct, there is a 6 hour time difference between Eastern Time and European Time (one of our pilots lives in England/Britain, another lives in Romania), so if it's 12 pm noon time est, it would be about 6 pm European time (in some parts of Europe, it could actually be later than 6 pm).

But to alleviate any misunderstanding by any pilots, it might be a good idea to change the schedule times from 12 pm to read 12 noon EST.

If anyone has a suggested schedule for War Forces, please post it ! We need a schedule soon because of War Forces is starting this Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009.

My suggested schedule is only that, a suggestion and it can be changed/modified or disregarded. But it does take into consideration the 8 weeks war and the 3 allied teams and 4 hun teams.

Please post your ideas/schedule, we need to help CamelJock get things going for War Forces !

I will send my ideas soon, still on work for a few hours.
Best times for J99/KoA are sunday 3pm and saturday 3pm. Saturday 12pm is a bad time, we get only 3 or 4 pilots , most of our pilots are still working at this time

S! Vasek, I changed the suggested schedule so all 12 PM times now read 12 NOON to alleviate any misunderstanding and also added EST to all times. Thanks for posting, you raised a valid point that 12 PM may be misunderstood. 12 NOON EST is much more clear and not apt to be misunderstood !!
